Soul Jazz Records are releasing Funk 70 Box Set, a limited-edition one-off pressing, exclusive for Record Store Day, collectors seven-inch box set, featuring ten superb, rare and classic funk cuts across five individual bespoke 7″ singles housed in a hardbox set, with each single housed in individual innersleeves.
Seriously rare, killer and classic funk tunes brought together here in this unique one-off Record Store Day box-set edition.
This release features so many great singles. The super-rare Winstons MASSIVE 45 featuring Amen Brother (the drum break of all drum breaks for all jungle records ever!) as well as the soul anthem Color Him Father. A superb rare Detroit funk cut from Jackie Harris, Joe Bataan’s Latin Strut – the best latin funk tune ever made that helped launch Salsoul Records, rare groove hi-adrenalin funk from Untouchable Machine Shop and finally a KILLER slice of New Orleans funk produced by Eddie Bo with the amazing drums of James Black in the mix.
All tracks have been digitally re-mastered and the singles come housed in a thick, heavyweight deluxe card box.
This box set is a one-off pressing exclusively for Record Store Day.
