Even The Horizon Knows Its Bounds is a 45-minute ambient composition by Australian sound artist Lawrence English, commissioned for the Naala Badu building at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The piece unfolds across eight interconnected movements, blending elements of neoclassical piano, drone, and field recordings. English collaborated with a distinguished ensemble of artists, including Jim O’Rourke, Claire Rousay, Chuck Johnson, Chris Abrahams (The Necks), and Vanessa Tomlinson, among others. The composition reflects English's exploration of how sound interacts with architecture, aiming to evoke the building's atmosphere and the transient nature of memory. The album is available in both digital and limited edition vinyl formats, featuring a matte laminate sleeve and clear smoke-colored vinyl.
