Alternate Moon Cycles was the inaugural release from International Anthem, originally recorded on December 17, 2012, at Chicago’s Curio bar. This minimalist performance features Rob Mazurek (cornet), Matt Lux (electric bass), and Mikel Patrick Avery (organ), capturing two extended compositions that unfold slowly, allowing the ambient sounds of the intimate setting to permeate the recording. The music is characterized by its sparse, single-note-centered chant, creating a meditative atmosphere.
