Recorded alone in a cabin in Wisconsin, this album is eerie, atmospheric and enigmatic. The instrumentation is simple and the sound pretty low-key, but within this the arrangements are really lush. Next in a line of leftfield Americana after Will Oldham, Elliott Smith, Smog. One of 2008's landmark records.
