Originally released in 1966, 'Meditations' is a turning point for Coltrane. An avant-garde release, widely considered the "spiritual follow-up to 'A Love Supreme'." It features both Coltrane and renowned saxophonist Pharoah Sanders as soloists and finds Coltrane moving into the free jazz territory he started exploring in the early ’60s.
