Originally released in June 1967 by Texas psych‑avant‑garde pioneers The Red Crayola (later Red Krayola), The Parable of Arable Land is a radical sonic journey that interweaves six structured tracks with seven chaotic “Free Form Freak-Outs” performed by “The Familiar Ugly”—a collective of over 50 friends, including appearances from 13th Floor Elevators’ Roky Erickson. This stereo edition is newly analogue remastered and pressed on 140 g black vinyl, housed in a reverse‑board printed sleeve. It faithfully revives the original International Artists release while delivering the startling contrast between song and noise that has cemented its status as a groundbreaking work in psychedelic rock, proto‑punk, noise, and the avant-garde.
Collections: Avant-garde / Experimental Psych / Garage
