Dan Silk aka Worldwide Epidemic brings his junglist powers to Furthur Electronix, in what is surely a match made in some twisted version of heaven. Silk’s forte rests in letting breakbeats do their thing, seemingly granting them the sentience to stop-start as they please, and setting them loose across unwitting pads and stabs. Title track ‘Deformations’ begins at a slower pace than we’re used to hearing from WE, allowing the manic rhythms to gently bathe in a fray of clear-blue acid textures, and we’re fairly certain we’ve yet to hear a track from Silk as classically rave-ready as ‘Time Stood Still’.
